How my journey began
Kamie’s personal fitness journey started in 2012, while on a military deployment. After almost getting separated from the Army for failing fitness standards, she decided to ask a female Officer to teach her barbell strength training. At the time, strength training was very much a male dominated sport, but Kamie immediately fell in love with getting stronger vs constantly dieting and trying to shrink down. After deployment, Kamie began a personal journey to explore as many movement modalities as possible including aerial arts, yoga, martial arts, dance, and more. Strength training always remained a staple.
She also learned to love the amazing mental health benefits from movement and strength training.
In 2019 Kamie completed her yoga teacher training, and began working as a yoga and group fitness instructor. She received her NASM personal training certificate and completed a 600 Master Trainer course in 2021.
Kamie’s mission is to put a barbell in every woman’s hands.
